Things to Do in Slough on Bank Holiday Monday (4th May)

No plans? Here are some solid local ideas to make the most of the day

Bank Holiday Mondays are a bit of a gift. No work, a chance to get out, and hopefully a bit of decent weather. If you’re staying local to Slough, there’s actually plenty going on or nearby to keep you busy.

Here are some easy ideas depending on what kind of day you fancy.

🌳 Get outdoors and keep it simple

If the weather plays ball, you don’t need to overcomplicate it.

🌿 Black Park Country Park
Perfect for a proper Bank Holiday walk. Lakes, woodland trails, and loads of space to just switch off for a few hours. You can walk, cycle, or just sit with a coffee and people-watch.

🌸 Herschel Park
Right in the middle of Slough and ideal for a relaxed afternoon. Good for a wander, a picnic, or just getting some fresh air without travelling far.

🌳 Salt Hill Park
A classic local park with plenty of space, a café, and a bit more going on. Great if you want somewhere easy with facilities nearby.

Parks and walks are always a solid Bank Holiday option, especially with more daylight and (hopefully) some sun.

🧗‍♂️ Do something a bit more active

If sitting still isn’t your thing, there are some good options locally.

🌲 Go Ape Black Park
High ropes, zip lines, and a bit of adrenaline. Good for groups or families and a proper way to burn off some energy.

🤸 Jump In by AirHop Adventure & Trampoline Park Slough
If the weather turns, this is a great indoor option. Trampolines, foam pits, and a surprisingly good workout.

🧩 Bust Out 360
Escape rooms and immersive games. Ideal if you want something different and a bit more interactive with friends.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly day out nearby

If you’re planning something for the whole family, there’s plenty just a short drive away.

🎢 LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort
Always a big one over Bank Holiday weekends. Rides, attractions, and plenty to keep kids entertained all day.

🏰 Windsor Castle
If you fancy something a bit more relaxed and historic, it’s right on your doorstep and makes for a great day out.

🏇 Windsor Racecourse Family Fun (if running)

These types of Bank Holiday events often include funfairs, entertainment, and activities for kids all in one place.

🚶‍♂️ Keep it local and low-key

Sometimes the best Bank Holiday plan is no real plan.

Grab a coffee and go for a walk
Meet friends at a local pub
Explore a part of Slough you don’t usually visit
Head out for food and take your time

Even local libraries and venues like The Curve regularly host community activities and events if you want something quieter.

🎶 Bonus idea: extend the weekend vibe

While not always on the Monday itself, Bank Holiday weekends around Slough often include:

Live music
Food and drink festivals
Community events

For example, similar weekends have featured local beer, food and music festivals running across the whole Bank Holiday period.

So it’s always worth checking what’s still running into Monday.

The bottom line

You don’t need to travel far or spend loads to enjoy Bank Holiday Monday in Slough.

Whether it’s:

A walk in the park
Something active
A family day out
Or just taking it easy

There’s enough locally to make the most of the extra day off.

So… are you planning something, or just seeing where the day takes you?
