Trunks across the Thames

Get ready for something truly majestic! In the summer of 2026, a herd of magnificent elephants is moving into Slough and Windsor.

Trunks across the Thames is the very first art trail from Thames Hospice. For nine weeks, our streets and parks will be transformed into a vibrant open-air gallery featuring individually designed elephant sculptures. It’s a free, family-friendly trail of discovery that brings our community together like never before.

Whether you’re a local business, a school, or an artist, there are so many ways to get involved and join the herd!

Thames Hospice Supper Club

Why not turn your next dinner party into something truly special?

The Thames Hospice Supper Club is looking for hosts to bring their nearest and dearest together for an evening of good food and even better company. It’s simple: you host a meal—anything from a summer picnic to a themed murder mystery—and your guests make a donation to the Hospice in return for your hospitality.

Once you sign up, we’ll send you a free host pack containing invitations, place cards, and even a bespoke cocktail menu!

Jubilee River Race

Ready for a race where you decide the distance?

Join Phoenix on Thursday, June 11th for the Jubilee River Race! Starting from the Riverside Centre in Slough, this flat, scenic course offers stunning views of the countryside and Windsor Castle.

It’s a six-hour timed event—run as many or as few five-mile laps as you like! Whether you’re aiming for a marathon or just one lap, everyone’s a winner and everyone gets a fabulous bespoke medal.

MacMillan Mighty Hike

The Macmillan Mighty Hike is coming to Windsor this June, giving people the chance to take on a half marathon hike along the Thames Path while raising money for people living with cancer. The route starts at Royal Windsor Racecourse and finishes in Maidenhead, following scenic riverside trails through Berkshire countryside.

The event takes place on Saturday 13th June and is designed for all abilities, with a flatter route, full support teams, pit stops, refreshments and finish line celebrations along the way. Participants can sign up solo or as part of a team with friends and family.

Entry costs £20 for the half marathon with a fundraising target of £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Organisers say the money raised helps fund vital cancer support services across the UK.

Maidenhead Rotary Open Gardens

This June, Maidenhead Rotary Club invites you to their annual Open Gardens weekend, happening on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June 2026.

Across the weekend, visitors can explore a selection of private gardens across Maidenhead and surrounding areas, each offering its own unique style, from formal landscaped spaces to wildlife friendly gardens in full summer bloom.

Along the way you’ll find homemade cream teas, refreshments, arts and crafts, plant sales and live local displays, all creating a relaxed, family friendly day out.

It’s a chance to enjoy a summer walk through beautiful local gardens while supporting a great cause, with all proceeds going towards Maidenhead Rotary Club’s local and national charity work, including support for food banks, hospice care and community projects.

Tickets are available now online via Ticketebo, priced at £12.50 for adults, with under 16s free, and the ticket covers entry for both days.

Long Walk Live

This June, Windsor turns into one huge open-air music festival as Long Walk Live arrives on the iconic Long Walk, right next to Windsor Castle.

Across two days, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June 2026, the event brings together a mix of headline artists, tribute acts, school choirs, community groups and local performers, all in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Expect a proper summer atmosphere with live music, food stalls, and picnic vibes on the grass, all set against one of the most famous views in the country.

Headline acts include Chesney Hawkes on Friday night, and Boyzlife on Saturday, alongside tributes and local talent designed to get all generations singing along.

It’s a family friendly event, with something for everyone, whether you’re going for the music, the atmosphere, or just a summer day out in Windsor.
