Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams has spoken in Brent following a double school stabbing.

He said a thirteen year old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Williams confirmed the investigation is now being led by counter terror police. He said officers responded after reports of a stabbing involving two schools, and reassured the community following the arrest earlier today in Brent.

The Democrats are set to introduce a bill known as Virginia’s law to end statute of limitation barriers to holding sexual abusers accountable.

The proposed legislation is named after Virginia Giuffre, who accused Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of sexual abuse, saying she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein. The claim was settled out of court in twenty twenty two, and Andrew has always vigorously denied the accusations.

A teenage boy who murdered twelve year old Birmingham schoolboy Leo Ross in a random stabbing attack has been detained for a minimum of thirteen years.

The fifteen year old, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to murder in January. Leo died after being stabbed while walking home from school on a riverside path in Shire Country Park, Hall Green. His family described him as amazing, kind and loving last year there.

An Afghan asylum seeker has been found guilty of raping a twelve year old girl in Nuneaton.

Ahmad Mulakhil, aged twenty three, admitted one rape charge and was convicted of another relating to the attack last year.

Sir Keir Starmer has insisted he will never give up on helping people and will never walk away from the mandate he was given.

Anna Podedworna, from Poland, killed Izabela Zablocka with a horse figurine before trussing her up like a chicken with electrical tape. She buried the remains wrapped in bin bags in a makeshift grave in the garden of a terraced house in Normanton, Derby. Ms Zablocka, aged thirty, lost contact with her mother and daughter in Poland in August two thousand and ten and was reported missing, Derby Crown Court heard. About fifteen years later, Podedworna emailed police after mounting pressure, following interest from a Polish television journalist.

Andy Burnham has insisted Sir Keir Starmer has his full support, following calls for the prime minister to stand down.

The comments come after Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar suggested Sir Keir should consider his position. Cabinet ministers publicly backed the prime minister on social media. Burnham, who was previously rumoured to be considering a leadership challenge, had initially remained silent.

French President Emmanuel Macron has urged Europe to assert itself on the world stage, saying it is time to start acting like a power.

Speaking ahead of an EU summit in Brussels later this week, he warned of a wake up call amid threats from China, Russia and the United States. He questioned whether Europe is ready to become a power in economy and finance, defence and security, and in democratic systems.
