The victim of a fatal stabbing in southeast London has been named as 26-year-old Ayowale Aledejana.

Police were called to Monson Road in New Cross on Saturday evening following reports of a man with stab wounds. Emergency teams from the London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance also attended, but despite their efforts, Mr Aledejana, from South Norwood in Croydon, died at the scene.

Two people have now been arrested on suspicion of murder, and police say specialist officers are supporting his family.

Oasis say they are shocked and saddened by the death of a fan at their Wembley Stadium concert on Saturday night.

In a statement, Liam and Noel Gallagher offered their sincere condolences to the man’s family and friends. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man in his 40s was found with injuries consistent with a fall just after 10.20pm.

Benjamin Netanyahu has called for urgent Red Cross intervention to help hostages being held in Gaza.

A fifth person has been charged in connection with damage to military aircraft at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.

Muhammad Umer Khalid, 22, is accused of conspiracy to commit criminal damage and to unlawfully enter a prohibited site. The incident took place on June 20, when two Voyager aircraft were targeted.

Palestine Action claimed responsibility, and police say the damage is valued at around £7 million. Khalid was remanded in custody and appeared in court on Sunday.

Thousands of drivers who bought cars on finance before 2021 could be in line for compensation.

The Financial Conduct Authority says many finance deals may have breached disclosure rules or legal requirements at the time they were sold. The regulator says it’s preparing to consult on a redress scheme and has warned that compensation and administration costs could reach £13.5 billion.

The FCA added that consumers who’ve lost out should be refunded fairly and efficiently.

An amber weather warning is in place for Scotland as Storm Floris brings winds of up to 90 miles an hour.

The Met Office says the storm will hit on Monday, with “unseasonably strong and disruptive winds” expected across much of the country. Gusts of 80 to 90 miles an hour are likely in exposed coastal areas, on hills and bridges. A yellow warning also covers parts of Northern Ireland and northern England, from 6am to midnight. Scotland’s amber alert runs from 10 in the morning until 10 at night.

Hundreds of thousands of young carers in England and Wales could be missing out on vital support because they’re not registered with local authorities.

New figures from Action for Children, obtained through a Freedom of Information request, reveal just over 84,000 young carers are known to councils. But research by the University of Nottingham suggests there may be up to 800,000 children helping to care for a loved one in England alone.

That means around nine in ten may be missing out on legal entitlements and support services.

Just 36 aid trucks entered Gaza on Saturday, as Palestinian officials warned the humanitarian crisis there is deepening.
