Local Spotlight: Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead

• Slough Town FC: The Rebels host Braintree Town FC at Arbour Park this afternoon in the National League South. Kick-off is at 3:00 PM. Slough will be looking to secure a vital three points in front of the home crowd following a tough run of early-season fixtures.
• Maidenhead United: The Magpies head out on the road this afternoon for a 3:00 PM kick-off away against Dover Athletic FC at the Crabble Athletic Ground.
• Windsor & Eton FC: Action across non-league and grassroots football also sees local fixtures in full swing across Berkshire, with community pitches hosting matches throughout Slough, Windsor, and Maidenhead.
• Slough Spitfires: Slough’s second team the Spitfires, face Basingstoke Bison 2 in the National Ice Hockey League, Southern Division 2 at Slough Arena. Face-off is 6:30 PM

National & International Highlights

• Tennis – US Open (Day 7): Moving into the third round at Flushing Meadows, headline action features Coco Gauff against Spain’s Cristina Bucșa on Arthur Ashe Stadium. Top seeds including Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev, and Iga Świątek are also in action through the afternoon and evening sessions.
• International Football Window: Domestic league play takes a backseat as international squads assemble ahead of the autumn campaign, with nations fine-tuning lineups before the opening round of UEFA Nations League fixtures later this month.
