Cryptocurrency worth billions of dollars has been stolen from major exchange Binance, in what experts describe as the largest bank heist in human history.

The security exploit targeted one of the world’s biggest digital asset trading platforms, which says it is establishing the facts with urgency. While deposits and withdrawals are suspended, Binance insists user funds are safe and all hacking losses will be covered. Industry tracker Arkham Intelligence estimates crypto worth over five point eight billion dollars, or four point three billion pounds, was taken.

An Australian court has ruled that Erin Patterson, who murdered three people by serving them a mushroom-laced beef Wellington, can never be released from prison.

The Court of Appeal in Melbourne dismissed her bid to overturn her convictions following claims of a miscarriage of justice. Dismissing her appeal, Justice Stephen McLeish described her offending as extraordinarily cold and calculated, which must be denounced in the strongest terms. Patterson now has until the twenty-seventh of November to appeal to the country’s High Court.
