England have qualified for the World Cup knockout stages after a two-nil victory over Panama.

Following a tight opening half, things opened up when Jude Bellingham scored. Harry Kane then headed himself into the history books with the second goal, becoming England’s all-time top World Cup goalscorer. It provides a vital second half boost for Thomas Tuchel’s men, who won their opening match against Croatia.

Steve Clarke’s Scotland have crashed out of the World Cup after results went against them.

Ghana failed to defeat Croatia by three clear goals, with that match finishing two-one. The result means Scotland can no longer progress as one of the best third-placed teams and will head home. Despite the campaign ending in disappointment, Scotland have established themselves as regular qualifiers at major international tournaments.
