The Home Office has vowed to introduce new capped safe and legal routes for refugees to come to the UK later this year.

The department said a model based on Canada’s asylum system will allow organisations like universities, community groups and businesses to sponsor refugees. However, the Conservatives said no extra people should be let into the country until illegal immigration is stopped.

Live Facial Recognition vans are set to deploy on Peascod Street in Windsor on Monday, June 29th.

Thames Valley Police will use the specialist technology alongside local officers to detect known suspects and prevent crime. Authorities say the visible presence of these vans can actively deter offending, even if some individuals choose to avoid the town centre during the operation.
