Rescuers are searching through rubble in a rush to save lives after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela near the capital, killing at least 235 people and injuring at least 4,300 others.

In Caracas and the coastal city of La Guaira, people could be heard calling for help from under the debris of collapsed buildings. The first 7.2 magnitude quake was followed seconds later by an even stronger 7.5 magnitude one.

King Charles has disclosed he paid£12.9m in tax for 24/25, becoming the first British monarch to reveal his personal tax bill.

The level of tax paid puts him in the top 100 of UK taxpayers. Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales declared he paid £7.76m over the same period.

A fourteen-year-old boy from the Blaenau Gwent area has been charged with murder after a female body was discovered during the search for a missing teenager.

Gwent Police made the arrest after the body was found in the Duffryn Park area of Blaina on Monday. Officers believe the body to be that of a fourteen-year-old girl, named only as Lilly, who was reported missing.

A moped rider who tried to flee from police in Slough has been charged with a weapons offence.

Twenty-one-year-old Kamran Mullen, of Faraday Road, was arrested in Britwell on Monday after officers on patrol stopped and detained him. He is due to appear in court on October sixth.
