Police investigating the death of a woman whose human remains were discovered following a wildfire in south-west London have arrested a second man on suspicion of murder.

Joanne Sheen, a mother of three, had been missing since travelling from Fareham to Southampton in December 2019. The Metropolitan Police were called on the twelfth of August after bones were found near Padstow Walk in Feltham. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has taken over the murder investigation.

Emergency services were called to the Grand Burstin Hotel on Marine Parade after one o’clock on Saturday morning. Kent Fire Service dispatched twenty-six engines at the peak of the blaze, which is believed to have started in the basement. Police are treating the incident as suspicious. Around two hundred and eighty people were evacuated, with no injuries reported.

A massive Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region has killed at least two people and injured six, according to Governor Andrei Vorobyev.
