President Trump says the United States has reached a deal with Denmark giving the US permanent control over security in Greenland.

Writing on social media, Trump announced the US will immediately begin developing a major military presence there. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen confirmed both Denmark and Greenland expect to sign an agreement next week to bolster security across the Arctic and North Atlantic regions.
