Model and Singer Nick Kamen has died at the age of 59.

Nick appeared in the famous 1980s Levi’s launderette advert and also enjoyed musical success in the same decade with hits including Each Time You Break My Heart and Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.

The star, real name, Ivor Neville Kamen was born in 1962 in Harlow Essex. He first appeared on the front of The Face magazine in 1984 wearing a ski hat, lipstick and aviator sunglasses before hitting major public attention a year later starring in the Levi’s commercial.

Following his appearance in the advert it’s said that Madonna got in touch and offered him Each Time You Break My Heart, which was originally set to feature on her third album, True Blue, and also sang backing vocals. The song charted at number five.
