A man has been arrested after reports of a dog walker pushing and tripping a woman near a pub on Christmas Day.

Police say a twenty five year old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident in Eton Wick. Officers say the man was walking with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier when he pushed a woman in her twenties. The alleged assault happened between one thirty and two pm as he walked from The Greyhound Public House towards Colenorton Crescent.

Some Eurostar services have resumed after all trains from London to Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels were cancelled because of a power outage in the Channel Tunnel.

Eurostar says trains that are running may still face severe delays and possible last minute cancellations following the partial reopening. Passengers are being advised to postpone their journeys to a different date if possible. LeShuttle services, which carry road vehicles and passengers between Folkestone and Calais, have also restarted after disruption.

Thieves have drilled into a German savings bank vault, stealing millions of pounds worth of valuables from safety deposit boxes.

Police say the gang carried out the heist during the Christmas holidays in the western city of Gelsenkirchen. Officers believe the suspects accessed the building through a neighbouring parking garage. Witnesses reported seeing several men carrying large bags in the stairwell overnight, while CCTV captured a black Audi RS six leaving early on Monday morning.

John F Kennedy’s granddaughter Tatiana Schlossberg has died at the age of thirty five, a month after revealing she had terminal cancer.

A statement posted on the JFK Library Foundation’s Instagram account said she died on Tuesday. The message said she would always be remembered and was signed by her husband George, their two children Edwin and Josephine, as well as her parents and siblings.

A man has been arrested after five people were assaulted with a weapon at a hospital on Merseyside.

Police say the incident began when a man attended Newton Community Hospital in Newton le Willows on Tuesday afternoon and asked for an appointment. Officers believe his request was declined and, after being asked to leave, he became increasingly agitated. Police say he damaged a counter before assaulting several people inside the hospital with a weapon, possibly a crowbar.

Services are beginning to resume after the Channel Tunnel partially reopened following disruption.

Operators say an overhead power supply problem remains unresolved and passengers are strongly advised to postpone their journeys to a different date. Customers are being warned not to travel to stations if their train is confirmed as cancelled. It is also expected that trains which do run will face severe delays and possible last minute cancellations.

Great white sharks in the Mediterranean Sea are at risk of disappearing, according to new research.

Scientists from the United States, working with the UK charity Blue Marine Foundation, say illegal fishing is contributing to the decline. The researchers say some of the most threatened species, including great white sharks, are being sold in North African fish markets. Great whites are among more than twenty Mediterranean shark species protected under international law.

French right wing figure Éric Ciotti has called for a national tribute to honour film legend Brigitte Bardot, prompting criticism from political opponents on the left.

Ciotti said France had a duty to honour its Marianne, referring to the national symbol whose face Bardot represented during the nineteen sixties. Bardot died on Sunday aged ninety one. A petition launched by Ciotti has gained more than twenty three thousand signatures, with backing from some far right allies.

Two men have been arrested after a pedestrian in his eighties died following a collision in Kent.

Police say the man was struck by a grey Mercedes estate on the A two eight nine Gads Hill in Gillingham just after midnight on Monday. He was later found on Grange Lane. Detectives have released CCTV images showing two hooded men on foot nearby, with one appearing to run while carrying a number plate.

A No 10 file from 2004 and 2005 covering royal visits overseas was briefly made available to journalists before being withdrawn. The original embargoed version included minutes on the overseas travel of several royals, including the then-Duke of York, who was serving as a UK trade envoy. This information was later redacted before the file was made publicly accessible at the National Archives in Kew, west London.

Donald Trump said he hoped to move to phase two of the Gaza peace plan “very quickly”, warning Hamas it would have “hell to pay” if it did not disarm.

The US president, whose 20-point plan requires the militant group to disarm, made the remarks while meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida on Monday. At a press conference after their meeting, Trump said Israel had “lived up to the plan 100%” despite ongoing attacks in Gaza. He also said the US could support another major strike on Iran if it resumed ballistic missile or nuclear weapons development.
