A death row inmate in Tennessee set to become the first woman executed by the state in over 200 years remains alive after being administered two lethal injections, according to her lawyers.
Fifty-year-old Christa Pike was due to be executed in Nashville after the United States Supreme Court overturned a previous reprieve. However, her legal team filed an emergency motion to halt the procedure, claiming Pike maintained a heartbeat and remained conscious after the injection chemicals were administered.
Online adverts promoting baby products that claim to assist infant sleep or alleviate conditions such as colic and reflux could be putting children at risk of serious physical harm or death, a watchdog has warned.
The Advertising Standards Authority advised parents to be on high alert after reviewing three hundred and fifty advertisements for infant products and services. The regulator classified fifty-nine percent as high risk, identifying dozens of adverts for further action.
