SWRS Membership
The Slough and Windsor Model Railway Society is open for new members. The society has around 100 members and new members are always ensured a friendly welcome.
Formed in 1983, SWRS, now meet three times a week at the Manor, a 19th-Century building of Great Western Railway origin, located within the boundaries of the Grade-II listed Slough railway station with excellent transport links by car, rail and bus.
Benefits of membership include receiving our magazine “The Triangle” four times a year; reduced entrance charges for Friday Night meetings; occasional excursions; and more.

Slough Repair Cafe
Got a broken toaster, wobbly chair or a favourite jumper with a tear? Don’t throw it out—bring it along to the Slough Repair Café!
It’s on the last Saturday of every month (except December), from 11am to 2pm at Unit 38C in Queensmere Shopping Centre.
Skilled volunteers will help you fix one item—whether it’s a small appliance, bit of furniture, or clothing. No need to book, just drop in. You can even enjoy a free cuppa and biscuits while you wait.

Lego Workshop
Got a young LEGO fan at home? Bring them to the LEGO Club at The Curve Library in Slough — now running every Tuesday from 4 to 5pm.
It’s perfect for children aged 5 and up, and it’s totally free. Just bring imagination — we’ve got the bricks! Parents and carers need to stay on site during the session.
No session on 29th July, but otherwise it’s every week.

Langley Social
Looking for a friendly way to spend your Tuesday afternoons? Slough Borough Council invites you to a relaxed, drop-in social session every week at Langley Library on Trelawney Avenue.
It runs every Tuesday from 2 to 4pm, and it’s completely free! Expect games, crafts, puzzles, reading, and plenty of good conversation. Activities change each week, so there’s always something new.
Pop by, meet new people, and enjoy a cuppa while you’re at it!

Maidenhead Boundary Walk
The Maidenhead Boundary Walk returns on Sunday 5 October 2025, starting from Boulter’s Lock Car Park (7-15 Lower Cookham Rd, Maidenhead SL6 8JN) between 9:00 and 10:30 AM.
You can choose the full 13.1-mile challenge or take the shorter, family-friendly 2.5-mile route via Boulters Lock Island and Taplow. It’s open to all ages (under-16s must be with an adult). Raise funds for your favourite charity, Age UK Berkshire or Thames Hospice, or just walk for fun.
Entry fees start around £6 for adults, £1 children; group deals are available. Advance registration closes 25 September. Sign up at boundarywalk.org.uk. Let’s make 2025 a record-breaking year!
Tyler’s Farm Parties Charity Day
Are you looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon and support a great cause?
Join us at Tyler’s Farm Parties for our special Charity Day on October 11th from 2 to 5 pm.
Enjoy an afternoon packed with family fun, all to raise money for SUDC UK. Bounce on our bouncy castle, meet and feed our friendly farm animals, and get creative with arts and crafts. Treat yourself to some delicious homemade scones and tea, and listen to magical stories at storytime. Bring your friends and family and help us make a difference. All proceeds go directly to SUDC UK.

SWRS Model Railway Exhibition 2025
All aboard for the Slough and Windsor Railway Society Model Railway Exhibition, at Burnham Park Hall, Windsor Lane on Saturday 25 October from 10 to 5 and Sunday 26 October from 10 to 4.
See layouts in O, OO, N and 009 gauges, plus modelling demos, traders, preservation groups and a special children’s layout where kids – and adults – can drive a model train.
Refreshments will be on site, with a licensed bar from midday.
Tickets on the door are £8 for adults, £7.50 for seniors, with one child free per adult. Extra children are £5, and advance and two-day tickets are on Eventbrite.
