A twenty-eight-year-old man has been arrested in South Yorkshire on suspicion of the murder of Ann Widdecombe. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the suspect, a white British national, is in custody and Widdecombe's family have been informed. The force was assisted by Counter Terrorism Policing North East, while South Yorkshire Police carried out the arrest. The Metropolitan Police officer who shot Chris Kaba is unlikely to face misconduct proceedings due to new government regulations.
